“When the Buddha touched the earth he was saying, ‘This place. I will awaken here. I will not say that there is someplace better than where I stand. I will look to the earth beneath my feet for the path that leads to the life I choose. I will find what I need here. I have the power to choose, and when I use that power this place becomes the place where I love, where I create, where I learn, where I teach, where I find, where I let go, where I live with joy, where I die with honor, where I awaken.” Rolf Gates, Day 313 in Meditations on Intention and Being.
I love this daily inspiration by Rolf Gates. It invites me to gently relax into the moment, to accept the place that I find myself, and to know that there is abundant possibility right here.
“I will look to the earth beneath my feet for the path that leads to the life I choose. ” These words, in particular, really resonate with me. As I reflect on my life’s journey, it seems this is the way I’ve moved from one living moment to the next, from a place of grounded-ness in the present.
